The 94th edition of the Internorga was to take place in Hamburg from 13 to 17 March 2020.

Internorga, the international trade fair for the catering and hotel industry in Hamburg, has been postponed due to the corona virus. This was announced by Messe Hamburg.

The 94th edition of the Internorga was to take place in the Hanseatic city from 13 to 17 March 2020. At a press conference in mid-January, the organizers predicted over 95,000 trade visitors and more than 1,300 exhibitors.

The events of the dfv Mediengruppe during the Internorga will also be postponed. The International Foodservice Forum, the presentation of the Hamburg Foodservice Prize, the German Congress for Community Catering and the School Catering Forum are expected to take place around the catch-up date of Internorga 2020.

"The safety and health of our exhibitors, visitors and employees are our top priority. We will probably make up for Internorga 2020 in the summer," says Bernd Aufderheide, Chairman of the Board of Management of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH.

Messe Hamburg intends to make a decision on the new date of the fair in the near future.

In a statement issued by the Hamburg Trade Fair, it is stated literally: "Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH (HMC) is postponing Internorga 2020 due to concerns about the increasing spread of the corona virus COVID-19, thus following the recommendations of the crisis management team of the German Federal Government to apply the guidelines of the Robert Koch Institute in the risk assessment of major events. Furthermore, numerous exhibitors have already withdrawn their participation. All conferences and fringe events in connection with the Internorga are also affected by the postponement. "
