Beer tap stays closed too often

Despite far-reaching relaxations of Corona rules, British pubs have again sold significantly less beer than before the pandemic. In 2021, almost 1.5 billion pints less beer passed over the counters than in the pandemic pre-year 2019: This was reported by the industry association British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA).

These sales would correspond to a drop of 38 percent or 5.7 billion British pounds (€6.78 billion). Still, in 2020, sales were 55 percent below
