The Europa Center in Berlin: From the end of the year, a McDonald's logo will replace the Vapiano lettering.
McDonald's is making its mark in Berlin with a new location covering more than 1,000 square metres and is expected to move to a prime location in the Europa Center, directly opposite the Zoologischer Garten and the Bikini shopping centre, by the end of 2021. The previous tenant at the location was Vapiano.
The restaurant with a total area of over 1,000 sq m and top visibility to the shopping street Tauentzien
and Breitscheidplatz marks the return of the market leader in system gastronomy to Berlin's prime location. McDonald's is thus continuing its expansion strategy in inner-city prime locations in addition to the proven drive-in locations on motorways, main traffic routes and commercial areas.
McDonald's is planning a "restaurant of the future"
in the Europa Center with freshly prepared food, a large outdoor terrace, an indoor terrace, table service, play facilities for children and a McCafé with barista-quality coffee specialities.
Europa Center shopping mall
The Europa Center
has held its own for over 50 years in the prime location of the shopping mile Tauentzienstrasse,
in Berlin's City West. Today, the Europa Center is home to around 70 shops, including flagship stores of internationally renowned brands as well as hand-picked regional boutiques. This offer is completed by traditional and creative gastronomy and entertainment concepts.
In addition to the shopping mall, the Europa Center building complex includes the 21-storey Office Tower with over 13,000 square metres of office space, the Palace Berlin business hotel with around 280 rooms and 2,600 square metres of event space, as well as Haus Eden, a residential and commercial building with 73 residential and 45 commercial units and a multi-storey car park with over 1,000 parking spaces.
