In the future, guests will be able to order from Chipotle via Facebook Messenger.
In the future, guests of the US TexMex brand Chipotle will also be able to place their orders via Facebook Messenger. The new Concierge-Bot Pepper makes this possible. The chain is also launching its Chipotle app in Canada.
The concierge bot Pepper
is activated via the Facebook Messenger
on the Chipotle Mexican Grill
company website. Users can use Pepper both to place an order and to find the nearest restaurant. If the guest chooses the ordering option, the bot guides him or her through the entire process, which reflects the process in the restaurant and allows guests to customize their menu to suit their individual needs.
The customer then selects a payment option via Pepper to complete the order. New customers can create an account with the order bot, while existing customers can log into their Chipotle Rewards account to access stored payment information and redeem rewards. All orders placed through the Chipotle Facebook Concierge can either be picked up by the customer or delivered to a specified address via the delivery service.
"We are constantly working to improve our digital offers and provide a smooth ordering experience for guests," explains Curt Garner, Chief Technology Officer of Chipotle. "It's important that we meet customers where they spend time online and offer guests ordering options that best suit their needs.
To provide an enhanced digital experience for Chipotle guests in Canada, the brand is launching its Chipotle app that allows guests to where customers can order their favorite meals. In addition, Chipotle is now also available in Canada through the delivery providers DoorDash and Uber Eats.
The quickservice brand Chipotle was founded in 1993 by Steve Ells in the US state of Colorado. There are currently over 2,600 restaurants in the USA, Canada, Great Britain, France and Germany. According to the Technomic Top 500 Chain Report, the company generated sales of 4.8 billion US dollars in fiscal year 2018.
