More freedom: Some companies are planning separate areas in the canteens for vaccinated and recovered people.

According to media reports, German companies such as Bayer, Eon and Alltours are forging ahead and planning extra areas in company restaurants and coffee bars for vaccinated and recovered people. However, the unvaccinated should not be left out in the cold.

In these separate areas, employees will be allowed to sit together without any protective requirements, while those who have not been vaccinated or who do not provide information about their vaccination status will continue to have to live with distance rules, masks or partitions during meals, reports the "Rheinische Post".

According to the paper, the Bayer Group, for example, is talking about several pilot projects for canteen areas for vaccinated and recovered persons only. Bayer, like other companies, however, emphasized that non-vaccinated persons would continue to have access to the canteens. Everything is planned in close cooperation with the works councils. The companies interviewed by the "Rheinische Post" also reportedly want to keep the home office quota high.

Bayer had also reported that employees were joining up on their own to form work groups without unvaccinated people. "Self-organized groups - for example in multi-person or open-plan offices, in laboratories or sub-areas of production - can work together without distance and mask or hold work meetings in presence meetings under voluntary application of the 2G rule (vaccinated or recovered)," the paper quotes the company as saying.
