The largest Dutch delivery chain New York Pizza is massively expanding its presence in Germany. With the acquisition of the delivery service Stückwerk, the Dutch company wants to become one of the main players in the German market.

In the future, a total of 32 operations will bring not only the pizzas but also what the company says is a particularly user-friendly ordering system to customers in Germany. New York Pizza sees the dough as part of the secret to its success. It consists exclusively of natural ingredients, is produced centrally with guaranteed quality and is freshly processed in the New York Pizza operations. The special feature: the baked dough becomes a very special taste experience after a short delivery time - whether as a traditional, Italian-thin version or as the original New York Style Pizza with an airy, crispy edge.

The Dutch see the particularly simple and very convenient ordering system as a further plus: customers can order quickly and easily via app, online, by phone or in the restaurant. Via the online ordering system, all guests can track exactly when their order arrives.

Philippe Vorst, founder and CEO of New York Pizza on the future cooperation and plans in Germany: "Stückwerk is a premium delivery service in Germany that, like us, places a very high value on freshness, taste and very high-quality ingredients. With all our experience and combined know-how in the pizza delivery business, we are much stronger together."

He added that the collaboration with Stückwerk was the first major step in the German market with the aim of continuing to grow both organically and structurally when attractive opportunities are seen. "This is how we want to grow into one of the most important players in this country," says Vorst.

To underline the importance of the German market, Karsten Freigang, former CEO and managing director of Domino's Pizza Germany and previously of Joey's Pizza Service Germany, is taking over as managing director New York Pizza Germany: "We want to achieve a lot in Germany. That's why we're relying on our team of local experts, on what the Stückwerk franchise partners have built over the years, and building on that success." Freigang sees the dough quality, the first-class ordering system and the strong expertise in online marketing as trump cards in the competition.

Dietmar Fassbach, CEO and founder of Stückwerk, is also proud of this - as he says - "historic step": "As a medium-sized franchise system, it is becoming increasingly difficult to handle all the investments for accelerated technical and digital development in order to keep up with large players." He said New York Pizza has already been proving this for many years in Holland, so Fassbach is glad for the "great opportunity." In addition, he has known New York Pizza and Philippe Vorst for many years due to trusting cooperation. The Stückwerk franchise partners are "in the very best hands".

In Cologne since 2014

The first branch of New York Pizza has been active in Cologne since 2014. The second restaurant also opened there in December 2020. The new locations will be ready for the first orders at the end of November.
