It's going to be really big: Mercato Metropolitano is going to open its first location in Germany at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin in 2022.

In London, the sustainable community market concept has been successful since 2016. Now they want to take Germany by storm. In addition to Andrea Rasca, founder and "chief visionary" of Mercato Metropolitano, ECE and Brookfield Properties are driving this future project forward.
He will be answering questions from foodservice editor-in-chief Boris Tomic in this Digital Talk, August 26th , 11 a.m. Register here now free of charge.

Covering 4,400 square metres, Mercato Metropolitano will offer freshly prepared, traceable and artisanal food from the best local and international producers on two levels.

Repositioning of the arcades

As part of the complete repositioning of the Arkaden at Potsdamer Platz, a shopping centre with international high street flair is to be built by 2022, in which around 90 shops and flagship stores of well-known brands from the fields of technology, sports & entertainment, science & beauty, mobility & leisure and gastronomy will be located.

The community market Mercato Metropolitano forms the core of the complex. Jonathan Doughty, Globald Head of Foodservice, Leisure and Placemaking at ECE, is the third person in the group to speak in this talk about how the world of retail has changed, how this change has now accelerated and what changes will have to be made to projects in the future to welcome the "new" types of tenants.

We will also be discussing with you, the listener, new types of use, growing diversity and some of the interesting ideas that will make up the spaces of tomorrow. Click here to register free of charge for this Digital Talk.

The talk will be held in English.
