Together with the WebApp start-up Yoordi, Fraport is testing a new self-ordering service at Frankfurt Airport. Guests can pre-order from several caterers and pay cashlessly without a special app.
The passenger scans a QR code, browses through the menu of the participating restaurants (at the start: Goodman & Filippo, Meyers Deli Coffee Kitchen, Hausbar by Hausmann's), orders and pays contactless. App download and registration are not necessary. He then collects his order via the "Fastlane" of the respective operator. The prerequisites for a smooth process are a stable Internet connection, multilingual order pages and international payment options.
In the meantime, the seat catering services at Frankfurt Airport have also reopened for consumption inside the terminals, contactless ordering including delivery to the table by the service staff included.
"The pilot project allows us, in cooperation with our restaurateurs, to quickly and flexibly try out how we can improve the guest experience with Yoordi," emphasizes Daniel Gemander, Key Account Manager "Food & Beverage" at Fraport AG. Various concessionaires are initially testing the solution in Terminal 1, Pier A. During the pilot phase, the application can be adapted to the requirements of the airport's customers and restaurateurs, and additional features can be added if necessary.
