As founder and managing director of the gastronomy consultancy foodservice solutions, Annette Mützel assists restaurateurs and suppliers in all matters relating to brand development and concept positioning. For her, gastronomy is not just a profession, but a passion. Like many, she went from being a restaurant visitor to a delivery user during the pandemic. FOOD SERVICE she reveals her 5 top tips for ordering food in Wiesbaden.

"I have always been on the road in my life, never liked to cook. Getting to know new restaurants, bistros and pubs is (and remains) my passion - and not only from a professional point of view," confesses Annette Mützel. "During Corona, I suddenly got interested in cooking and started doing it. But after 12 months I just didn't feel like it anymore ... just too much work."

And so the gastronomy expert tested what her hometown of Wiesbaden had to offer . "Unusual situations require unusual ideas - the goal of operational excellence, quality, safety and service also applies to the delivery and pick-up service," says Mützel. In individual gastronomy, there are simple and original solutions according to my motto "The time of possibilities is not over".

Already on the website, the "Lockdown Menu" is easy to find. Massi Namet's small, fine "restaurant and bar" (huge gin selection) in the Westend-Kiez combines two worlds: a varied cuisine with Afghan and Indian specialties from the Hindu Kush and the finest German wines from young, wild vintners. Mama Fauzia Namet is responsible for the cuisine. The former journalist and enthusiastic cook conjures up a varied, constantly changing menu with fresh ingredients, oriental spices and herbs. The food is prepared fresh daily, uses regional products and is free of flavor enhancers and preservatives. The burger tastes great: nice and fluffy, super juicy and fresh! This culinary highlight of "das! Burger" is and remains number one in terms of taste - and that also in the pick-up! Recently, there has been an e-bike fleet for the inner-city delivery service .

In the individual gastronomy there are good, simple and original solutions. The overall package also counts for pick-up and delivery. Several factors have caught my eye positively:
A special highlight in terms of customer care and brand: When the restaurateur hands over the order himself or even rings the doorbell and wishes bon appétit.
Sustainability and environmental awareness: pick-up and delivery adds an extra mountain of packaging waste. There are already good, new recyclable solutions made of wood and paper. When it comes to mobility, it's not just the big players who are relying on e-bikes and e-scooters.
Communication and assortment: On the website, immediate visibility and a focus on delivery service is important. Here the little ones can learn from the big ones. Extra button, linking on social media. Often a small, manageable range is enough, not every product is suitable for delivery.
Motivation: For guests, ordering food is convenient and brings variety to the menu. The restaurateur and team can keep their business open in this way and maintain contact with the guests.
