The typical orange of the Just Eat Takeaway.com brands will soon be seen in Slovakian cities.
Deliveryando parent Just Eat Takeaway.com is expanding its presence in Eastern Europe. According to the company, it will take over the Slovakian market leader in food delivery Bistro.sk. This has been agreed with the previous owner, Ringier Axel Springer Media AG. Just Eat Takeaway.com is thus further expanding its position as one of the world's largest online delivery services.
According to Just Eat Takeaway.com, the purchase price for
the platform is approximately 50 million euros
. The purchase is expected to close before the end of 2021. Upon closing, Bistro.sk will be rebranded with the distinctive, consistent Just Eat Takeaway.com look and feel, and its IT systems will be migrated to Just Eat Takeaway.com's systems.
Based on search volume and website data, bistro.sk is the market leader in
online delivery services in Slovakia, Just Eat Takeaway.com said. The delivery platform covers the whole of Slovakia, and in several central cities bistro.sk also delivers with its own drivers. There are about 2,000 restaurants
on the platform, and the number of active users is more than 400,000.

The transaction will allow Ringier Axel Springer Media to focus on its strategy based on online publishing, classifieds and community business in Slovakia."
