Poke House takes over Austrian brand

It is the fifth acquisition of Poke House, one of the best-known brands in the market of pokerias. The Californian-inspired Hawaiian bowls concept continues its international expansion with the take-over of Honu Tiki Bowls, the poke leader in Austria. This step follows the acquisition of Sweetfin, California at the beginning of the year.

The chain was founded on the initiative of Matteo Pichi and Vittoria Zanetti at the end of 2018 and has since then followed a steady growth path including several acquisitions. The company now counts more than 90 active units and a calendar of over 80 new openings in 2022 between Italy, Spain, Portugal, the UK, France and the USA

The Austrian operation, now the fifth for the fast casual poke made in Italy, is part of an ambitious programme of large-scale growth to strengthen Poke House's position as a leading global poke brand through a strategy that combines direct expansion in target markets and investment in local players with strong brand awareness, capable of driving the creation of a loyal and engaged community, just like the Poke House Squad.

In line with the operations already carried out in Portugal (the eponymous Poké House), the United Kingdom (Ahi Poké), the Netherlands (Poké Perfect) and, most recently, in the United States with the Californian poke and plant-based bowls precursor Sweetfin, the investment in Honu Tiki Bowls is aimed at creating a successful partnership based on the sharing of know-how and technology to create synergies for the implementation of operations and home-delivery processes in each of those markets.

The recipe for Poke House's global success Faithful to the format that has determined its success in a short time in Italy as well as in the major out-of-home markets worldwide, Poke House keeps implementing a hybrid business model of contamination between retail and digital, where the technological component and the data-driven approach play a fundamental role in terms of customer loyalty (through a proprietary CRM), efficiency of the delivery service and analysis of consumer trends, functional to design, update and customise its offer in real time in all the countries in which it operates and, with a significant level of detail, in each individual store.
