Three Mövenpick restaurants change operator

Since the end of April 2023, the three Swiss Mövenpick operations Brasserie Baselstab on Basel's Marktplatz, the Mövenpick restaurant in Chiasso on Piazza Indipendenza and the Mövenpick restaurant in Lucerne on Pilatusstrasse officially belong to the Sinnvoll Group. Sinnvoll Gastro, based in Kriens near Lucerne, thus continues to grow and now operates throughout Switzerland.

With the takeover of the three Swiss Mövenpick restaurants, a long gastronomic era is being transferred into new hands. Founded in 1948, Mövenpick restaurants have now been known for over 70 years for a high-quality mix of Swiss classics and seasonal traditional dishes. Will everything be different now? Reto Aregger, Managing Director and Member of the Executive Board of Sinnvoll Gastro, clarifies: "For the time being, nothing will change in the appearance of these three well-known and popular restaurants. The existing basic concept will be continued in all three establishments; at most, minor adjustments are planned."

Also, according to Aregger, all employees as well as existing synergies in terms of administration, finances and gastronomy would be taken over. "We are looking forward to a successful cooperation. In addition, we are aware of our social responsibility. We want to make this takeover as pleasant and smooth as possible for everyone involved and especially for our guests."

Including the takeover, Sinnvoll Gastro manages 17 different hotels and restaurants throughout Switzerland - including the grottino1313 restaurant in Lucerne, the Hotel Restaurant Kaiserstuhl on Lake Lungern and the Hotel Wetterhorn on the Hasliberg.
