The Finnish food delivery service Wolt launched its market entry in Germany in Berlin in August 2020. This was followed by Frankfurt, Munich and most recently Hanover.

Finnish food delivery company Wolt is partnering with SimplyDelivery as it expands into Germany. With the integration to the SimplyDelivery management system, Wolt is now setting the course for an automated ordering and delivery process in which everything comes together in one system.

"With its own delivery fleet, Wolt is largely aimed at restaurants that do not operate their own delivery service. These previously faced the challenge of having to manually transfer orders from delivery portals to their cash register," explains Björn Wisnewski, CEO and founder of SimplyDelivery. "With the integration into SimplyDelivery's management system, all orders automatically run into one system. The receipt of the order is printed directly, which saves a significant amount of time for the restaurant business."
About Wolt
The Finnish technology company Wolt operates in 23 countries and over 170 cities and delivers food from over 35,000 restaurants with more than 85,000 couriers. The company was founded in 2014 and today employs more than 3,800 people in Germany. The company is led by co-founder and CEO Miki Kuusi. Wolt has already received over €707 million in funding from investors such as ICONIQ Capital, Highland Europe, 83 North, EQT Ventures, Goldman Sachs Equity Partners, Inventure, Lifeline Ventures, Supercell Founder & CEO Ilkka Paananen, Tiger Global, DST, KKR, Prosus, EQT Growth and Coatue, and former Nokia CEO Risto Siilasmaa.

Frontrunner in the integration is Burger King. Since November 2020, the system gastronomer has been cooperating with delivery partner Wolt. Now Burger King in Germany is taking the next step in digitizing its business. "This is a big step for Burger King to map all online ordering channels via a central order hub in the future," Julia Klietzing, Head of Digital at Burger King Germany, sums up after a pilot phase in Berlin. "The successful tests have shown how the integration of SimplyDelivery simplifies our processes and thereby also speeds them up. These are key benefits for Burger King to keep the quality of our products and services high for our guests."

Tim Nilsson, General Manager Wolt Germany, underlines, "In the partnership with SimplyDelivery we see the possibility of an "all-in-one" solution for the in-house and out-of-house business. In this way, Wolt can be integrated even more playfully into existing structures and operational processes."

Connections simplify handling

SimplyDelivery offers other delivery portal connections such as Lieferando, DiscoEat, Uber Eats or food ordering via Google in addition to the latest Wolt integration. With the connections to the POS system, larger restaurants in particular could greatly improve their handling and efficiency, Wisnewski adds. "This is where SimplyDelivery takes another step towards the digitalization and automation of the restaurant industry."

SimplyDelivery is the leading platform-independent operating system for delivery services and restaurants and sees itself as a driver for the digitalization and optimization of processes in the industry. Founded in 2014, SimplyDelivery is today the fully comprehensive software for the operation of individual restaurants and franchise systems with a variety of modules all running in one system. By automating business processes and providing real-time process control, SimplyDelivery restaurant management system (RMS) can deliver significant business efficiencies. Due to a globally deployable cloud architecture and standardized onboarding processes, SimplyDelivery is already operating in five countries.
