Tax on draft beer frozen

In the UK, the number of pubs has been falling significantly for years. By freezing the levies on draft beer, the goverment aims to support the pubs.

In order to help the beleaguered British pubs, the government is freezing the levies on draft beer. The regulation is to take effect from August.

"From Aug. 1, taxes on draught products in pubs will be up to 11 pence lower than taxes in supermarkets," Finance Secretary Jeremy Hunt said Wednesday
